The Spokane Law Enforcement Museum contains well over 3,000 display items. This collection includes uniforms of the past and present from the United States, Canada and beyond.

There are also two of the original cameras used in the identification unit in Spokane in the 1940s, the original radio from Spokane County, patches, badges, original photos from the 1800s to the present, a ball and chain, old handcuffs, and restored vintage police automobiles.

This vast collection, started by Glen L. Whiteley, has grown as officers from local, state, and federal agencies and their families continue to donate  memorabilia.

The board members of the Spokane Regional Law Enforcement Museum (SRLEM) applied to be licensed by the state in 1996. The first meeting took place March 10, 1999, but the idea had been germinating for some years. Committees were formed and a board was elected, and they have been meeting monthly nine months out of the year since then.

Other museum displays may be seen at the Public Safety Building at 1100 West Mallon, Spokane, WA, and Responders Emergency Services Credit Union at 924 West Sinto Avenue, Spokane, WA.

On special occasions, we display our items at other locations within our community for public enjoyment and education.

The Spokane Regional Law Enforcement Museum is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to preserving and archiving the history and events of the men and women in law enforcement. The people and events are important in the evolution of Spokane, and it is relevant to present this history to the citizens of the Pacific Northwest. Since history continues, our goal is to grow and expand this historical museum as an ongoing project. The museum relies on the support and donations from members and sponsors in order to continue this mission.
